Banook Canoe Club is Nova Scotia's first Canoe Club and has been established since 1903 on Lake Banook. The red and white club colours have long been a Dartmouth tradition. Lake Banook is one of the finest natural flat-water canoe/kayak racing courses in Canada and one of the best in the world. Lake Banook has hosted national and international events for the past 20 years and hundreds of local regattas since the late 1800's. Banook has been the site of three World Class championships - the Junior World's in 1989, the Senior World's in 1997 and the Marathon World's in 2000.
Lake Banook will be the site of the 2009 Senior World Championships
